Girls Trip at Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant, OK
It has been almost 1 month since my sisters and I had visited Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma, and just the thought of how much fun we had brings back some great memories. Even though this casino is only 1.5 hours away, we had a wonderful visit!
In reality, this was our girls trip / sisters trip / birthday weekend celebration all rolled into one! You can say, we don’t plan trips together often but that may change after the fun we had in only 2 days. I had visited Choctaw Casino with my husband, Ivan, on several other occasions before this trip. When I would think about casino’s, my immediate thoughts were slot machines and a game of roulette. What I didn’t know was, that there would be a casino out there that offered more. I always enjoy a game or two on the slot machines, but I quickly lose interest especially if i’m losing more than winning. Therefore, the fact that Choctaw has more activities to offer, is why I keep going back.

In my own words; Choctaw Casino is located in Durant Oklahoma just a few miles from the Red River that divides the two states. With it being 1.5 hours away from the DFW, it’s a great spot to get away from city life and emerge into a world of lights, entertainment, and things to do all throughout. One may think that a casino is for adults only, however Choctaw has designed their environment to fit everyone; families included.
Activities
As I have mentioned before, there are several activities that you can do while your stay or visit at Choctaw Casino.
The District offers a movie theatre, bowling alley, an adult bar, and arcade. My sisters and I started playing a game of bowling, with a side of drinks, and made our way to the arcade. This area is also great for kids and families as it caters to both!
Resort
The resort is filled with a 1-acre space of pools! I was by far impressed with this entire section. Choctaw Resort offers an indoor pool, outdoor pool for the kiddos (slide included!), and at their lower deck pools…are areas for Adults only, or for Families.
Lower Deck Adults Only- Naturally my sisters and I hung out around this area. They have 2 swim up bars (so awesome!), beautifully waterfalls which leads to more pools, cabanas to rent with lounge chairs, and 2 jacuzzis.

Choctaw Spa
At this Spa, is where I had the best massage the last time I visited! The Choctaw Spa is so beautiful and offers the right amount of relaxation. I was captivated by the natural light, the waterfall and soothing music. They offer private locker rooms, a food menu, indoor jacuzzi, steam room, showers, and a vanity area to get ready for the day. My sisters and myself enjoyed everything about the spa, especially lounging on the the comfortable seating that surrounds the pool. Highly recommend reserving before heading to the spa. Dining
As I have mentioned, I had visited Choctaw on several occasions. The last visit prior to this girls trip, I left being impressed with the food. The food at this Casino is deeelicious! The places we ate on this trip were Bamboo Noodle Bar, Grand Cafe, and 1832 Steakhouse. Visit Eat and Drink for a full list of restaurants!

Friday 9/20
Arrived around 4:30pm- Check into Hotel
5pm -Stayed at the Spa Tower (Left our bags, freshened up)
6pm-Walked around/Toured Casino
6:30pm- Dinner at Noodle Bar
7:30pm- Bowling and Arcade at The District
Saturday 9/21
9:30am- Breakfast at Grand Cafe
11:00am- Slot Machines
3pm-1 day pass to the Spa
5:30pm- Lower Deck Pools and checked into Cabana
7:30pm- head back to hotel to get ready for dinner
9:00pm- Dinner at 1832 Steakhouse
Sunday 9/22

Why you should visit Choctaw Casinos?
Whether you are a gambler, like to be entertained, or need to relax…Choctaw Casino has it. It’s my favorite casino, only 1.5 hours away from the metroplex, and makes you feel like you are on a vacation. Choctaw is a great place to take your family (yes- even if you have kids!), because of the arcade, movie theatre and bowling activities they have in the district. With it’s expansion of the Casino in 2021, you can guarantee that you will see this casino continue to keep everyone in mind as a place of oasis.
