Dreaming of a Llano Wine Christmas
I can’t believe Christmas is only a few days away! As you wrap up on your holiday gifts, don’t forget to also add wine to your list! There are several reasons why I love wine, and also to gift wine to others.
Wine is a great hospitality gift. it’s welcoming, comes beautifully secured in a bottle, and is pleasing to the eye. You can never go wrong with giving wine as a gift, as you probably know of a wine lover in your circle!
Wine is also very tasteful, and made with rich ingredients. That was my experience when i visited Llano Estacado Winery in Lubbock, Texas and how each bottle is carefully crafted. For colder weather, red blends and medium bodied wines are a must. They sit well on the palate, and make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. They are perfect for that cold winter night by the fire, or a shared meal at the dinner table. These are the two wines that I highly recommend you taking to your friends or families gathering during Christmas (or any other occasion during the season!).
The 2015 Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Oh how I’ve learned to love cabs! The 2015 Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, and 12% Petit Verdot. The grapes that created this wine are located in West Texas! This medium bodied wine is traditional yet provides a lengthy finish. This wine is great to eat during a meal such as steak.
Llano Cellar Select Port
This is my first time having Port in my home! Llano Cellar Select Port has a robust flavor and can be paired well with dessert. This wine offers multiple flavors, mixing between sweet, salty, and nutty… a few characteristics that fit long aged Port wines. This type of wine is usually served following a meal, or to pair with your favorite chocolate dessert.
