I have a confession. I have fallen in love with Chambray <3 You can call me an addict if you will, but I love the material, texture, and how lightweight Chambray is. I hadn't fully discovered Chambray until this Summer! Is that odd? Yes! Where have I been? Not at the malls obviously!
Chambray is everywhere! It's definitely making headway this Summer and I've become such a fan. I need to refrain myself from bombarding my closet with different Chambray tops! If you didn't know, I recently started a part-time online job with Stitch Fix. Every Chambray top I see, I instantly feel this rush to ship it off to customers! I don't ship it off to everyone because it's not everyone's style, but it's a clear sign that I have a passion towards this material!
Today I dedicate this blog to Chambray and by doing so It's only necessary to give you a little Chambray 101 ...
Some might associate Chambray with denim and that's not quite the case. Chambray is made to be a more breathable textile. As Nordstrom's blog "What is Chambray" states, "Chambray is plainly woven, or done in a crisscross method making it airier." We all know wearing denim anything in the Summer can get pretty hot so why not give Chambray a chance?
You can find tops, button up blouses, pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses in Chambray style. This top is from Cotton On and it's perfect to mix over anything as it's a solid color and blends in effortlessly.
You can wear chambray over white cuffed shorts as seen here, over distressed denim, tucked into skinny jeans or denim pencil skirt, over print shorts or dark jeans in the Fall. You can wear Chambray just about anywhere!
I decided to decorate my outfit with silver statement pieces. These earrings are from Kendra Scott, bracelet from Forever 21, and ring from the Louisiana Farmers Market when I went to New Orleans last year! Considering this look is simple, it's OK to go big on the jewelry!
Fringe always adds style and personality to any look! I love that these are in a tan color making it easy to match with a lot of things! The gold studs are also a nice touch :)
I hope you are encouraged to try Chambray before the Summer is over! It's a material you can wear year round!
