Hello! SO happy it's the middle of the week! This past weekend I went to visit family and completed more stuff for the wedding. Considering its going to be in South Texas, I try to do what I can while I'm there. Since being engaged, the times I have gone to visit family have been more exhausting than usual. My time spent there is usually all out of wack because I want to do everything within that one weekend! Spending time with future in-laws, catching up with friends, spending time with family, possibly going out, getting some sun at the beach if I can. The list goes on and on and I just run out of time; hence the exhaustion when I get back home. However, lately when I visit I try to complete that AND wedding stuff! Overall, what I'm doing since being back is recovering. Not to mention my flight was canceled on Sunday, and then delayed Monday for probably 3-4 hours! Also, I missed my bed! :(
Moving on!
A few Instagrams back I had posted about a pair of unique slinky heels that I purchased by Schutz. I tend to be attracted to heels that have personality and I hadn't owned any Schutz until now. I usually never know HOW I plan to wear something until it arrives and I start mixing and matching. I just go with my intuition that I'll find something to wear it with eventually :-P And EVENTUALLY always comes. ...
As you know because I've mentioned it many times before...I LOVE blazers! I never knew how much I would wear a white one in particular because well.. its white and I thought you can only wear white with certain things. I have worn this blazer SO much! Over bright colors dresses, nuetral colors, prints... on just about anything.
My idea of this outfit really stemmed from the idea of "date night". I haven't been out on a date with my fiance in a while! Why? Saving money for the wedding. And NO going out to eat occasionally doesn't count. When these shoes arrived at my door, I thought "hmmm these heels are for a night out." Which is why I paired them with some bling.
I could of worn jeans but the jeans would not showcase the heels. I could of worn them with shorts, but shorts are so typical. I could of paired them with a skirt, but I didn't have the right skirt in my closet to pair with. Instead, I found some old distressed pants, cut them below the knee and rolled them up to fit like Bermuda shorts! I feel like they give a totally different personality which is what I was going for.
Just because something is different or not in style, doesn't mean you can't make it an outfit idea others want. Make it your own style and own it!
